CCC serves as a safety net for people when they need it the most, and there has never been a greater need. The Community Crisis Center’s history spans four decades, and we’ll continue on with the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners. We are proud of our past and the work that we have done, and we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary by looking forward to feeding a healthy future.

How it all began….

It was 1982 – the country was in a recession and neighbors were facing hunger and hardship. Faith-based and civic groups from across Reisterstown, Owings Mills, and Glyndon joined together and the Community Crisis Center, Inc. (CCC) was born.

Since our start, CCC has stood by families and neighbors weathering a number of economic downturns and now the global pandemic. We’re here 40 years later and we’re still providing trusted services and support to those in need.

We successfully retooled our entire food distribution operation during the pandemic by changing to a drive-thru and home delivery system so that we not only could continue serving nearby families and neighbors but many more people in need throughout the Baltimore region.

We’ve grown from our roots by expanding our basic food pantry services, because we’ve learned there is more to eliminating hunger and building self reliance. Current CCC programs also include:

  • hygiene products,
  • a clothing closet,
  • back to school supplies,
  • financial education via our assistance grants and financial literacy programming, and
  • distribution of referral, informational, and educational resources.

Celebrate our 40th anniversary this year by helping us reach our fundraising goal of $40,000! Your donation of $10, $40, or $400 will allow us to continue feeding, clothing, and empowering families and neighbors in need.
